Overturned

Demonstrations and protests filled the streets of New York City.  This film profiles three women: an artist, an activist, and an abortion provider. Angela Fremont had an illegal back-alley abortion in 1969 that nearly killed her. Fifty three years later, she makes art commemorating her experience.

Amaris Modesto a self proclaimed revolutionary, is 8 months pregnant, She stands at the intersection between safe and accessible abortions and a post-Roe future. Merle Hoffman founded one of the nation’s first abortion clinics. Now 85, she remains dedicated to making abortion accessible to those who need it most.
