A Good Death

Life and death are the bookends of our existence, yet we celebrate one and fear the other. Virginia Chang guides and supports, dying people while they transition from life to death. Can we find beauty, love, and peace in death and dying? As one of Virginia's clients, Soon Ja, approaches her final days, Virginia tells the story of how she became a death doula. Through her, we are invited to contemplate our own mortality.

Alison Boya Sun

Jean Chapiro is filmmaker and journalist from Mexico City. She graduated from The University of Pennsylvania in 2021 with a major in Communication, Visual Studies, and Cinema Studies. She’s currently completing an MFA in Film at Columbia University. Through filmmaking, Jean seeks to bridge the gap between entertainment and journalism. She  believes that storytelling is at the core of human existence and has the power to cut across political, cultural, and geographical borders.

Alison Boya Sun, a Beijing, China, native, works as an Editor/ Producer for the Eastern Standard Times media. There, she covers stories about Asian communities around the world. Her recent short documentary series on Asian hate crimes in New York City was featured on CBS. Through her work, she wants to transform the portrayal of Asians by western media, #NothingAboutUsWithoutUs
